Have 2009 screaming eagle road glide, just installed boom audio interface kit with new zumo 660. Followed lousy instructions but have no sound from GPS. Music stops when commands spoken but don't hear them.
Dealer gave me small cable (iPod navigational interface connector kit) with 2 wires that was supposed to be hooked into 6b plug terminals 4 & 5, other end to go to 35 pin plug into cavity 13 & 14.
Problem is 13 & 14 already have wires. Any suggestions?

GPS audio has its own volume setting. When the music is muted and command is spoken...turn up the volume on the radio.
Pins 13 and 14 are CAN Data Bus. If you have CB / XM the slots will be full. Just splice into them.

When I plug the unit directly into the aux. port on the front of the radio there is lots of volume so settings should be high enough. Only when trying to go through interface and not connected to aux. port is there no sound.
Any ideas on 35 pin cable and not hooking up 2 wire interface cable?

When you plug it into the aux port, you are using the main radio volume.
When using the NIM, the audio goes through the old phone audio circuit which has its own volume setting.
see above post and follow the instructions.

Do you have the HD Road Tech version of the GPS or the Garmin version?

I have read a lot of posts about using the NIM (Navigational Interface Module) and if that's what you're using, it only works with the HD version. I'm not read why but it seems like there's a difference in the way HD has their version wired inside the unit.

Also, I've read that there was an updated version of the NIM as some of the early units had problems.

I'm not sure if this is your problem or not but thought I'd mention it as something to consider.

Good luck in getting it to work I have the Road Tech 550 on my bike and I like it a lot, mostly for listening to satellite radio.
