I am looking to upgrade my stock 09 streetglide stereo I would like to stay under $1000 I love volume but fidelity is more important to me.I am thinking adding an amp maybe 75-100 wpc rms I don't care about peak power ratings.Should you stay with specialized bike audio or will any brand do the job?Is changing the head unit worthwhile?Any suggestions and or recomendations.

Dump the stock radio. You can get $400 for it on ebay and add that to your budget. I say get a new head unit with the kit either from hawg wired or biktronics so you can use the hand controls. Then you can go like above with the J&M or even piece a system together yourself. For less than $400 you can get a rockford amp and a good set of Focal 6.5 speakers in the faring. Of course there are a lot of different options out there for $1k.
