headset issue

I got a 2011 flhtk custom limited. Rode off the lot with 2 miles on it. I got almost 2000 miles on it now, and my headsets do not work for the 2 way talk feature. Stereo sound works fine through them, when you push the ptt, music cuts out like normal but you cannot hear the other person talk at all from either end. Any ideas will help.
P.s. i bought the headsets from harley dealership if that helps.

there is a seperate volume control for the VOX feature. your owner's manual tells you how to adjust the volume controls for the headsets.
