I've searched the forum for info on the Harley VOX. Have recently purchased the ˝ helmet headset with mic. Can't seem to get the VOX to work unless the sensitivity is all the way up and then you can't hear anything else. The PTT does work but what is the sense of VOX if you can't use it. I have a 2011 ultra limited. Any suggestions short of buying a different headset.
something has to be wrong, I use a HD headset and a over
the ear headset that is advertised on the boards and my
sensitivity is set to half-way and 1-2 bars above depending
on how much cross breeze we are riding in at the time.
I have had exactly the same problem with my 2011 Road Glide Ultra. I have the IMC Motorcom HS H40 headsets, (same ones HD uses I'm told) and the sensitivity for VOX needs to be one notch below "Open" or Max. Even then, it doesn't work very well, even at slow/medium speeds/low noise.
At one point another rider told me that HD had a new firmware for the radio that addressed VOX issues. (giving a wider VOX range or something like that...) So I checked mine and it's the latest and greatest version.
