Having a problem with the front speakers on a 2005 Ultra Classic, with factory radio. I have fadder set to full front and volume up to hear anything. With the fader set to the middle, balance equal front and rear, no sound from front speakers. Your ideas on fixing the problem would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mr_Bill
Mr Bill, the easiest thing to test would be taking one of your rear speakers and putting it up front to see if there is a difference. If not, then you definitely require the services of Iron Cross Audio. If you do hear a difference (back to normal difference) then simply replace the front speakers.
Talked with Iron Cross today. They only work on Harmon Kardon. They told me to call Radio Sound Inc for my model radio. They charge about the same and do a exchange for a fast turn around. I also learned that my radio has 2 amps. internal to the head unit. One for front and one for rear speakers. Thanks for all the info guys!

Mr Bill, i still think you should swap a speaker out before you do anything. Take a good known speaker from the rear and plug it into the front speaker wires. If your problem still persists, then you know it's the radio. If it doesn't persist then you know it's the speakers. And being an 05, I would put more $ on the fact that it's the speakers themselves.
Any radio that has any "powered" audio output will have an internal amp
I got around to taking apart the Batwing and checking the speakers. UltraNutz you hit the nail on the head. I switched one of the rear speakers to the front and it worked on both sides in the front. So I will get a couple of speakers. Sure beat sending in the radio for repair or exchange. Thanks to all that replied!
