.) Waterproof is a very strong word and I call BS on Jensen for using it. Water resistant would be more appropriate. Jensen radios have always been cheaply made and their longevity is certainly a question you want to present to yourself.
.) The clarion units I always liked even way back when I was installing audio and security for a living. The only problem I really had dating back to then was the size of some of the buttons on their headunits. Very small and seeing some in the local wally-world stores recently, that doesn't seem to have changed.
.) I feel both of these are overpriced.
.) Check out the Sony DSX-S310BTX before you choose. I had this unit in my 09 Ultra for almost 2 years and never had a lick of problems with it. I got it wet a few times in those 2 years and still worked flawlessly. If you get the rain protector from Biketronics then you can cover it in rain and while washing. All of the iPods and iPhones I tried with it worked as described as well and the kicker is the ipods and iphone go inside the unit to keep them out of harms way.
Thanks Ultranutz, looking for something in marine grade, already smoked two Kenwood KIV 700's, my faring is aftermarket, I have fabricated cover to decrease future probabilities, would still like the marine grade for less probability.
