I got the speakers and the rings. My tweeter actually touches the grill cover. Is this a problem? I can see the grills getting wet and trapping moisture against the tweeter.

What speakers did you get? With the adapter rings, no speaker (unless it has some very large protruding tweeter) should touch the stock grill cloth as they are set back away from the grill in their mounting.

hmm.. that's weird. those speakers shouldn't be anywhere near those grills.

So you put the stock grill on the frt of the adapter, secured the adapter to the inner fairing essentially "sandwiching" the grill between the adapter ring and inner fairing, then attached the speakers to the back side of the adapter ring?

Yes, and took them back off because there was a bump in the middle of the grill from the tweeter

those grills (if they're stock) are made from acoutical water resistant materials. Where did you get the adapter rings?

He may have bought them from Throttle Up Industries, thats where I got my adapter rings from. I think they might be a little more shallow than some of the other rings......Mine actually do the same thing, The tweeters do "slightly" touch the grills. It doesn't bother me at all... You really can't tell just lookng at them , but if you touch the grille you can "slightly" feel the tweeter cover. No big deal, I want want the speakers as close to me as possible anyway. Also I see he has an RG ..Mines an SG. Here are some pics
