CB used to function flawlessly. Then, others who I ride with started complaining that they could not hear the audio of my tranmissions clearly enough to understand what I was saying. They knew I was transmitting but the audio just wasn't loud enough to understand me.
I checked microphones and headsets to no avail. I eventaully thought to plug my headset into the passenger's jack. Other could hear me fine then. So, at that point, I had ruled out microphones, headset, antenna, and transmitter.
I've gone all along the wiring and cannot find a break or other problem. Frankly, I think that it would not work at all from the rider's jack if a wire was broken.
Suggestions? Dealership was disappointing in their efforts, or lack thereof, to help.
The headset connector has specific wire assignments for the seven or so wires in it. The HD service manual identifies each function. Identify the wire for transmit and you will probably solve your problem. Alternatively, replAce the headset connector.
