Default Earplugs?

I was thinking to myself the other day while riding. Some people love to wear ear plugs while riding. Well to be honest with all the noise from the road/wind/ stereo....its loud.

So my question is for you aftermarket stereo guys...Do you use ear plugs...

AND why?

Well my gf wears ear plugs all the time cause the wind noise hurts her ears and she says she can hear my boom speakers fine. I personally like hearing the wind but after 300 miles you definitely can notice your hearing not being right. From a smart stand point it would probably be wise to wear ear plugs not to damage your hearing any I prolly need to wear them though as being 26 I've already got some hearing loss at high frequencies in both ears. According to the hearing test results they give me. We have to take a hearing test every year at work. Guess all those years of being stupid and invinceable running chainsaws and heavy equipment and farm equipment with no hearing protection is showing. But I do wear hearing protection now even on the lawn mower.

Know that's a little long winded but you asked why I actually bought a pack of ear plugs and put them in the bags Saturday because I am going to start wearing them.

Ill agree with that but from the standpoint of protecting your hearing, it would be smart to wear them on a bike if you have a lot of wind hitting you I'm the face. Or ride with no shield. Just my opinion of course but I do like hearing the wind kinda the point of riding a bike.

I used to wear them all the time when I was riding without a windshield. There was just so much noise that I'd get fatigued and end my day sooner than I wanted or have to fight through it to get where I was going. It wasn't fun. Earplugs made this mostly go away.

Now that I have a Limited with a windshield, I don't wear them. I have a loud exhaust but I haven't noticed any new problems with my hearing and I test about the same from year to year. Planning on replacing my windscreen in the next few weeks and think it'll be even better.

Got fitted at the annual motorcycle show for the custom earplugs... awesome!

Use them for shooting too.

New FMF full Ti on the 25R calls for it as well. Can still hear the bike, around me, and BT in my helmet.

It doesn't bother me till I get up into the distances of200 plus miles riding 4 lanes interstates at higher speeds cruising bacroads and 2 lanes it never bothers me but on windy days I'm going to start wearing them. I just have a 7.5 inch shield and my head sticks up over it so I get a lot of air it kicks the air just enough to go over my helment. Guess it really comes down to if you don't mind that muffled buzz in your ears after a long ride or not I can't stand it. But I know you can hear the radio fine with ear plugs in. Definitely an interesting conversation though.

I like to wear earplugs on the highway. I feel that I can hear the radio better. It is almost habit now.
