Thinking about going a different route on Street Glide
I have the Soundstream PN4.520 & Polk MM651s on my Ultra Classic, but am thinking I'll go a different route if I buy the Street Glide, just for the heck of it.
I plan to run 4 ohm speakers so I'm considering:
...Biketronics Titan II 6.5
...Biketronics Titan II 7.1
...Hertz HCX 165 (Found a used set for $150. Is that a fair price?)
...Boom Audio (Not really, just wanted to see if you're paying attention)
Amplifier:
...Soundstream PN2.350d (I don't know if I have the patience to wait)
...Soundstream PN4.320d (Bridged)
...Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 (least powerful of the group)
I'm all ears, so let me know what you'd do or if you'd go a totally different direction!
The speakers, if you're running 2 in the fairing only, then the Hertz at that price would be my choice. Just make sure they're authentic with serial number tags, etc. These are known to be copied and sold all over the internet for a lower price than they normally sell for. Those speakers ROCK and the highs aren't so bright as the Titan II and 7.1.
Just put those 7.1 speakers in last night on a street glide. They rock too, but you will find yourself turning the treble down.. The tweets are really bright but they never distorted even with that bridged 520D driving them.

I'll be going with the PN4.320 and the Biketronics 7.1.
Most of my hearing loss is in the upper frequencies, so a bright tweeter is a good thing.
I would have liked to try the used Hertz HCX's but buying something like this off of CraigsList, without being able to physically look at them or fire them up doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. I'd still be out another $40.00 for adapters.
Biketronics does have the 7.1's on sale ($249.95), lifetime warranty, great customer service and they come with adapters.
