Default Speaker lids sounds?

Has anyone gone aftermarket and been happy w the results? Looking into speaker lids sounds, I've already upgraded my stock system to Biketronics Titans 2's, ARC Audio 2ch amp "should of done 4 ch amp but?" and a hogtunes tweeter pods. The whole setup is nice, sounds amazing but I'm still lacking a tab bit more sound. Not a fan of hogtunes or Boom Audio systems. OEM Harley is too expensive

So far I've come across a few options such as the ones below, anyone care to chime on this or care to share their results, pros/cons, guidance or assistance?

Thanks~

IMO J&M audio suck, had them on my Street Glide. Once I removed the speakers and replaced them w Biketronics Titans 2's the sound was transformed immediately. I would never buy another J&M audio again, too bad that I wasted my money at Blackhills HD during Sturgis Rally, because I didn't know any better.

A Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 amp paired with a set of Titan's 2's will blow away J&M audio and all for under $400~ Speakers $250, amp $144 total $349!~ Instead of using a 2 ch amp from Arc Audio which was installed by J&M staff...

J&M is ok but highly overrated~ Just my 2cts

All items listed above will give you better sound than what you have now. That being said no one can argue 6X9's will give more sound output than the smaller round speakers due to simply having the larger cone surface to reproduce the sound.

After that, IMO, IMO, IMO, IMO, IMO, the Cycle Sounds lids to date are the best thing going. Clean, Quality, Good Company Reputation. You can also pick whatever speaker you want to use. We prefer Focal, but offer these lids to customers,(Forum Members receive 10% everyday) with or without speakers so that you may buy whatever you want in that area.

(BTW there was a shameless SALES PLUG in there somewhere, but can't seem to find it) LOL.

We can sell you the lids at 360.00, I don't know what the price would normally be on the entire kit as we use our own electronics, but could get you a price if you want me too.

I did a major overhaul on my sound system this winter, if you can call it winter here in South Texas. I had the fairing lowers with CVO speaker pods. I changed out my Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 and four T165 Power Rockford Fosgate speakers. I installed a SoundStream 4.520D amp, four Polk Audio DXi650 (6.5") speakers in the fairing and lowers, and two DXi691 (6X9) speakers in Cycle Sounds lids. This system is simply amazing!!! Everyone who hears it can't believe the amount of clean, clear audio coming a motorcycle. With the addition of the lids I now feel like I'm surrounded with music as I travel down the road at 70+.

IMO you did really well by going to the SoundStream, and Polk over what you were running in the past. We have seen many of these amps fail, mainly due in part to the (4 Ohm ONLY) rating. What a lot of people don't know is that when a speaker gets hot, the Ohms drop. If running an amp that is not 2 Ohm stable, you WILL run into problems at some point.
We are tunning a system today for Laughlin with the 7X10 in the CS lids and Focal Components in the fairing. Hands down "The best 4 speaker system I've ever heard". That said neither of these sets are on the Eco level of the purchase range. BUT H*** S****, I came in to my office cause my ears F'n hurt!

I will try to put some vids together this week that show what this sounds like.

Got to agree. I've got the Cycle Sounds lids with Rockford 6x9s. Love them. Cost a bit to get painted, but I have the CVO Tequlia Sunrise so I wasn't surprised. They are real sturdy and I would recommend them to anyone.
