What amp and speakers do you recommend with the stock head unit on my 2013 Road Glide. I hear the Polk 651 are good, anything better? I've hot a Kenwood excelon kdc-x792 CD player but don't know if it will hold up to the elements, what you think?
morning.. your KDC will hold up just as well as anything else will so I'd got for it since you already have it. The head unit IMO makes a tremendous difference to the outcome of your stereo setup.
If you're staying with 2 speakers only, then I'd recommend the RF PBR300x2 with the Polk MM651 speakers and a little polyfil to wrap the speakers in the fairing with.
with that (or any aftermarket) head unit, you will require either the Hawg-wired or Biketronics handlebar control module.
So, i need some speaker adapter rings (Cycle Sounds), BT 1005 Multi Brand Radio Install Kit and CS/RS Series Amp Install Kit, anything else? I'm attempting to install everything myself and any more pointers is appreciated. Does velcro work well holding the amp in place or does it need to screwed down?
Aside from taking the fairing cap off, look at the top of the forum for the 2013 Street Glide with the RF and MM setup. All other instructions will be the same
