Default Amp Suggestion...

I've been bitten by the better audio bug.

Here's the soon to be setup Sony S310BTX head unit, BT retro radio kit and harness. I have Hogtunes 902.2-AA in the fairing and the 117.2-AA in the rear tourpack pods that I dropped in last year.

I'm looking for a modest amp that I can install without a ton of muss or fuss and doesn't break the bank. I've seen SoundStream mentioned along with Rockford Fosgate and others.

The Hogtunes speakers I believe are spec'd at 2 Ohm and pretty sensitive at 92db front and 91db rears.

Bring on the suggestions!

For those speakers, you are better off sticking with the Hogtunes 40.4 amp. They can't handle a lot of power.

The best bang for the buck and to keep your FM reception I would look at the Rockford 4ch amp and if you can work a deal with Biketronics get their BT 7.1 speakers for the fairing and whatever rear speakers Biketronics or others here would advise. The speakers come with adapters. To make your install easier get the harness to wiring your amp to your Sony radio from Biketronics.

Pioneer74--

I had the sense that the speakers may be holding me back and I'm not completely opposed to replacing them but spring and summer need to get here so I can give a listen to others. That's what sold me not the Hogtunes. Hearing them.

They were a gigantic step up sonically over the OEM's. You raise a good point that I may need to step up the speakers before dropping an amp in.

Decisions...decisions....

I may look at those options as well. I like BT's products but their amps are a bit out of my price range right now. I'll check out the RF amp if I haven't already looked at it...

The RF 4 channel amp is not 2 ohm stable. You cannot use it with the Hogtunes speakers. And, while it will work with the 7.1's, they really like power and the amp wouldn't be the best for those either.
