This shows the size difference of the pods vs. the chopped tour pak.
Front view.
Front view, tour pak open.
This shows the connectors for the speaker pods and the saddlebag speakers. I added connectors so I can remove the tour pak and the saddlebag speakers are still fed through the amplifier.
This is the other side. Again, the additional connectors make it possible to remove the tour pak and keep the amplifier connected.
This is the mess of spaghetti I need to organize better.
those fit really good.....did you set them up higher on the tour pack? I wounder if a (banana backrest will fit?) you have peaked my interest now
I'm on my phone, so I can't really search, but I believe the 2011 CVO Street Glide I copied this from has a banana backrest. It's either here or on the CVO site.
I know your thread is a few years old and hope your still a member and around for some help.im working on just about the same project but a little different , 2014 chopped tour pak, got a used set of pods off ebay and cut a new angle, pre 14 has a different angle to it , also cut the pod down 1 1/2" lower in height ( eliminated the com switch ) and the notch you made for the tour pak lid but not as much because of the wrap around backrest. I even made the pod 1/2" deeper for a large speaker magnet. the pod is back together and areas where I used fiberglass and body filler are all sanded and ready for paint or vinyl wrap. before I move on to the other pod my question is saddle bag lid clearance , did you have any issues , where I have the pod now its 1" below the bottom of the tour pak .I can still cut a little off the bottom but not much , any suggestion would be appreciated ,thanks, rickydog
No issues whatsoever with the saddlebags. As you can see here, there is plenty of room to unhook the lids.
