inside the fairing atop a metal bracket HD provides with their kit for the stock stuff. My My GPS weather antenna, I simply applied velcro to the bottom of it and stuck it inside the fairing on top of the speedo and tach housings.

Since my amp and Hawg Wired bracket are both aluminum, I put a strip of velcro to the top of my antenna and stuck the other piece to the underside of the fairing above the radio. Same place, but stuck from the top as opposed to using the magnet on the bottom of it. Worked all weekend without any dead spots!

I am looking for a good place to put my antenna. Are you guys talking about putting the little square antenna inside the fairing? If so do you have problems with reception? The directions say to have a clear view of the sky, but would be nice to hide it.

exactly what we're saying. I've never had reception issues. Have had the XM Weather antenna in there for many years without issue. My sirius antenna seems to work just as well.

I originally had mine installed in the fairing but my reception suffered, I think its mostly because of my location as most people have had success putting it inside the fairing. I live in Western PA and between the hills, valleys, and trees even the Sat radio in my truck suffers at times.

Anyway if inside the fairing does not work for you I placed mine on my inner fairing just to the left of my windshield pouch. I used velcro to attach it. It blends in pretty well and is not that noticeable.
