Default Hogtunes Big Ultra Help

I have a Street Glide that I added a tour pack to and have purchased Hogtunes Big Ultra Kit, which includes 4 speakers and amp.

I also purchased the Hogtunes speaker pods.

My question is, the instructions refer to wiring that is already in place, since the Street Glide did not come with rear speakers I was wondering if there is already a wiring harness in place?

How are the rear speakers connected to the amp and head unit?

I started this install and got side tracked due to a death in the family and now want to get this all finished up and back on the road.

During last winter on my 2012 SG I added the hogtunes upgrade upper and lower fairing speakers along with the tweeter pods. I added saddlebag a lid speaker kit and detachable Tourpack speakers all with J&M parts in the rear. I have 2 hogtunes amps under the fairing and 10 speakers total. If I remember correctly I wired the rear speakers directly to the larger amp which supplied sound to all the upper fairing speakers as well. The lower fairing speakers were wired to the smaller amp and I still am able to add another set of speakers to the smaller amp if I wish. It was a bit of a challenge for me a novice but it came out ok with a bump or two along the way. I just followed the directions very closely.

I don't recall any existing wiring harness going to the rear other than for lighting. I could be wrong.

I used tech support at hogtunes and J&M when I got stuck. They were more than helpful. The sound I get from this system is awesome at any speed and I have Rinehart Extreme True Duals 4 inch which are pretty loud. Good luck with your project. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps a lot, I guess where I am the most confused is where do I pick up the rear outputs from the head unit?

On my amp there were outlets for front and rear. Glad I could help. Consult hogtunes they will help you.

If you didn't open the Big Ultra kit yet,.........I'd send it back. Way better boom for your buck than that...........that much $$$$, ( over $ 500 ) , for 40 watts per channel................uh........no thanks.

If you are stuck with it, here is HOG TUNES tech support .

Sorry to hear about your death in the family Best of luck with your system.

My cost shipped was $380. I needed to replace the front speakers as well so I think it was not too bad.

Job is complete. I called tech support and found out that I was supposed to configure it for 2 channel rather than 4 channel and that was the mystery solver.

Sounds good, and loud with less than half volume.

Thanks for everyones input.
