Default boom lower speakers question

I bought the Boom lower speakers awhile back and finally had the time to look everything over to install on my '10 ultra classic. I was told I needed a new harness #69200106, so bought that also. First, this wiring harness doesn't look right , have a plug coming off the main connector that I can't figure out where it would go ( it's a 6 way connector with yellow/brown wire and a yellow/pink wire). I thought this would be a fairly simple install to match the other Boom speakers that I have front and back. There is no amp, and I don't want an amp. I bought the speakers cause I never use the storage down in the lowers and figured a couple of more speakers would be nice. Has Harley made this harder then it needs to be to create labor for the dealers? I guess I'm asking for an explanation of what to do here short of having the dealer wire this up. The instructions suck.

if you haven't opened the harness, return it as it's not needed.. just another sales gimmick by HD.

What you want to do is wire your fairing speakers and your lower speakers in series. What that means on a stock setup is simply this.

On your right fairing speaker (sitting on bike right) you have a gray/red wire and a light green/black wire. Leave the gray read connected to the speaker and disconnect the light green/black wire. Run 2 speaker wires to your lowers. The + for the right lower will go to the fairing - speaker terminal. the lower right - terminal will go to the light green/black wire you disconnected from the fairing speaker.

On the left is a white/orange and light green/white. Leave the white/orange wire connected to the speaker and disconnect the light green/white. Run 2 speaker wires to your left lower speaker. The lower left + will go to the fairing speaker - terminal. the left lower - will go to the light green/white wire you disconnected from the fairing speaker.

Thanks, thats what I was thinking of doing. That will keep the ohms at 2 so no danger of damaging the head unit. I had thought of disconnecting the rear speakers to power the new lowers, but that defeats the purpose of why i bought them.

actually going to be a 4 ohm load wired in series. If you wire those in parallel it will be a 1 ohm load which that head unit will not be able to handle.

You can tell it's been awhile for me to mess with stereos/amps. Looked it up and your right about the series/parallel thing. Thanks for the info on wiring. supposed to rain tomorrow so will be a good time to get this done.
