Default Man oh man

3/4 of the way through my install. Got my sony deck in, and soundstream 520, as well as the polks in the fairing. was playing with the gain and my wife said I better stop, due to neighbors. couple things I didn't expect, or think about.

1. The rca jacks out of the sony are female, and the soundstream has female also. Are all rca cable created equally? What is everyone using?

2. I had bought some polk marine grade that were in the fairing, I figured they'd fit right in the back pods, and they did, but I threw away the covers, which I have to have for them to fit. Question 2, what should I buy for a 5 1/4 speaker to go back there?

3. Does everyone feel like they are trying to fit 10lbs of crap in a 5lb bag when fitting the SS amp in there? Holy cow, that thing is massive. She said it to when she looked at it.... My wife asked me if I was going to be able to put the outer fairing back on. I said I hope so.

I made the mistake of buying 5 1/4 to 6 and a 1/2 converters on ebay. when I got home today ready to start, I saw the package and new something was wrong, they were flat disks. I called my HD dealer and they had some arc audio for 60 bucks. ouch. Bought them anyway. Lesson learned.

I'm certainly pumped by the sound up front, it's awesome. Can't wait to get the passenger end done and buttoned up.

Thanks in advance, and thanks to Ultra for the advice on this config!

. Shortest I could find at 1.5ft. TIGHT fit on connectors though...

The 6.5 polks should fit the rear pods, but may need new mount/screw holes.

Which do you have?

Lots have done it. Did you take pics of your wire routing to make sure you reroute it correctly after? If you have trouble - show some pics so folks can make suggestions.

Ouch on adapters - about $40 normally so usual stealership, BUT at least they had them!

If the 521's will fit in as is, would I be losing a lot by going with the 5.25? They appear to speck out rather close. They only appear to be 10 watts less per speaker.

I wish I had test fit the 651's in there prior to install, it just seems like they shouldn't fit.

I have no doubt about the quality of the 651's, can't wait to road test them this weekend.

like GP said - bigger is better. not just power handling, but more importantly better SQ (IMO because of more mid and lows).

UN or others will chime in who i know for a fact have the 651's in the rear pods.

GL!

I need more voice and I'm not sure what the next step would be for the sound I'm looking for? and a Hi flow oil pump and while the cam chest is open new cams and after market bearings, a wedge primary chain tensioner.
Roller rockers in the heads, and this bike is just a money pit and I love it.
I'm one sick F*@%#&. Bring on the pain!

Finally finished up the build the other day, by adding RF P152's in the tour pack pods. Not bad at all, and I figured this way I'd only have 1 set of speakers that might melt down and get ruined.

Sitting in the seat going down the road, I have 4X more volume then I need and it sounds freaking awesome. I now get dirty looks from old ladies when I pull into the gas station with the sounds blasting. LOL

Guy.. sorry missed this one..

Might want to give a bit more information on what you're looking for. Bike year and model would be very helpful as well.
