Definitely OK w/ that. Each channel can have diff ohm load, as long as not below 2 ohm.

done all the time w/ 6 speakers on 4ch. front 4 speakers 4 ohms ea = 2 ohm load, and rears at 4 or 2 ohms at that load.

I'd still look at the BT7P1's if your budget allows!

GL!

Just remember that when you start 'sharing' channels on an amp,......you lose WATTAGE !!

Went $$ and have the Biketronics 4180 amp. Advantage is 180w RMS x4 @ 4 ohms.

But they also put out more wattage @ 2 ohms vs 4 ohms and then devide the higher output by 2! So sort of.

example:

180w RMS @ 4 ohms ea channel = ~120w RMS @ 2 ohms for 4 speakers in parallel. So RMS @ 2 ohms / 2.

More total wattage for the 2 ohm load, but less per speaker.

Makes me also wonder which is louder? I know... "louder" is lame, and we all want SQ, but as a measurement of volume (expecting good components with good SQ), more surface area (ie 4 speakers vs 2) - the additional surface area even with less RMS per speaker - shouldn't that be louder than 2 speakers at higher RMS?

hmm...

my only comment here is NO GAIN CONTROLS. Gain controls are there for a purpose and that is to match the output voltage from the head unit to the amplifier reagrdless of whether it's RCA output voltages or speaker output voltages. Simply don't get that!
