Sorry up front, I'm sure this has been covered before, but I must be a complete tool on the search button, because after much reading, I haven't come across an answer to what I'm wondering..
Just picked up a '13 CVO RG. And while I find the Boom stuff to be better than expected, it still leaves me wanting something better.
Thing is, the 110 also leaves me wanting more, so that's where the bulk of my $$ is going, trying to catch my sandbagging cousin and his S&S 124" lol.
So short story long, is there any speaker only upgrades that are worthwhile? Have to think the amps are for the most part up to the task? Again, I don't mind spending some $$ so long as the results are there..
The speakers on your bike are 1 ohm-- you can check the back of a speaker to confirm. If so, you won't find any standard replacements--1 ohm is not common.
you could use a 2 ohm speaker with this setup and they'll sound fine, just that the amp won't produce as much power as it's designed for a 1 ohm load.
You can always go UP in impedance/ohms but you can never go down. So if your amp for arguments sake is a 2 ohm stable amp, you can use 4 ohm speakers but cannot use a 1 ohm speaker.
Awesome, so it's either amps/speakers or do speakers and lose the amps full power output, necessitating an amp change anyways...
Glad I paid extra for the cvo!! hahahahaha
Will any of the commonly suggested amps work with this head unit/hand control setup? For example two of the Arc 125.2? Then speaker of choice?

Now here's a potentially incredibly dumb question.. (like mine all haven't been yet for some of you guys lol )
Could I just replace the front amp/speakers with 2 ohm stable stuff and still run the stock rears at one ohm? I don't really hear the bag speakers as the rider anyways,(tinnitus in one ear) they're more for momma...
I picked up 2 pair of JBL 3 way 6.5" 2ohm on Amazon for around $60.00 a pair. The speakers sound awesome and if you run them with a new amp should sound pretty bad ***.

Thanks so far guys!!
no dumb questions.. yes you are fine doing this with your setup since the rears are utilizing their own amp..
Went with your suggestion UN, ordered a set of the BT 7.1's... Still undecided on the amp tho, might try the stocker for now, but have a feeling I may as well keep searching, as I don't feel the stocker @ 1ohm will make enough poop to drive them properly... Something compact but still deliver the goods.. the arc? Soundstream? RF? Another option I haven't thought of??
Can't wait for this bike to round into form and sound/run as good as it looks, cuz it sure is a beauty lol....
