Do I need to run the inter connect harness parts #70169-06
I installed everything and ended up unplugging this harness since it seems it does nothing besides get in my way! On the main plug it says for ultra radio(I have a flhx), the other plugs are for Xm and cb which I have neither. The other plugs are for front side car interconnect, hands free module, headsets, and rear speakers...I have none of this also.
I am asking being the logical answer it no need for it, but I don't want anything funny popping up on me if I head out for a ride...like codes or blinking lights or something of this nature.
Now I am thinking and looking around this is an 2006/2007 year in
Ultra harness...the dealer Probally swapped in it for the orig owner to run XM radio...I also took off the XM antenna as well. He had a Sony head unit installed w iPod and XM when I got the bike.
No I got rid of a bunch of crap...which means a little air circulation under the batwing. I am running all my speaker wires direct from amp.
Now I have a bikertronics box which is not supposed to control volume or station selections but some say try it you may be surprised, we'll see. at least I cut the red, black, and yellow before the plug and used the orig harness for those. Hope it works.
This would be correct. At some point additional modules were added and in typical HD fashion (parts replacers) they simply added the NOUH to the mix.
If you don't have the XM/iPod/CB modules then there's no need to have it. These things arent cheap so if you don't plan on using it, throw it up in the classifieds section as I'm sure someone will take it off your hands..
