Default Preparing for New Sound System

I'm ready to purchase speakers and amp for my 2011 ultra. Picked my system from UltraNutz thread. I have Polk's in my home and want to stick with them. Here's what I'm thinking:

Stock radio
Polk MM651 speakers to replace all 4 stock speakers
Soundstream PN4520D amp

Questions:
1. What is difference between MM651 and MM6501 speakers?
2. Do I have to stick with the Polk grilles? I'm concerned about damage to the speakers with that much paper exposed. I realize they are marine grade.
3. Are my component model #'s correct
4. Anything else I need?

Just looking for more volume on the road and better sound. Nothing over the top but can spend some $$$. The installation instructions from UltraNutz look great. I feel fairly confident I can handle the install.

Really appreciate this forum and everyone's help.

The Polk MM6501 are component speakers and that means the woofers and tweeters are separate. The Polk MM651 are coaxial speakers and that means the tweeter is mounted to the center of the woofer. The MM651 is what most are using and you do not have to use the grilles. You will also need 6.5" speaker adapters and a 10awg amp install kit or make-up your own.

Will the 6.5 inch fit in the back pods of a ultra and still be able to use stock covers?

yes they will drop in perfectly into the rear pods without modification other than drilling new screw holes.

no you will not be able to use stock grills on just about any aftermarket speaker. Lots are going the route of the CVO pod grills but they're not cheap at $35 each. Lots are buying grills such as focal grills from eBay for this purpose. As for the fairing speakers, if you want to stay "incognito" simply use the stock black grills that are already there. Just remove them off the stock adapter rings and put them on the 6.5" adapter rings.

Or you can make some out of the gutter guard mesh and speaker cloth which is what I am working on right now. Have about 6$ in the grills

Ok I think I have the parts list down:

Stock radio
Polk MM651 speakers to replace all 4 stock speakers
Soundstream PN4520D amp
Arc Audio 6.5" Speaker Rings
Rockford Fosgate 10 AWG Power Install Kit
6.5" Trim Rings (HD or Focal)

I also realized there is a MM651UM speaker and a MM651 speaker. Does it matter if I get the less expensive non-waterproof model? I read that the grill is non-removable on the UM model.

Thanks again for all the help.

Here are a couple of pics with the CVO grills and Polk MM651's. More expensive than the other options, but fit perfect and look nice.
