Default Breaking in a speaker?

Is there any truth to actually breaking in a speaker before putting them to there real potential? I see all this talk about breaking them in a bit before really cranking them up IE: like the BT 7.1's and Titans and so forth.

i know there is some technical theory behind that so I'm not inclined to disagree but realistically how many customers have I have installed 2 18" subs in their hatch back and would then tell them take it easy for a few hours/days would have actually listened. I mean usually when I was doing something like the above I would have the vehicle for several days anyway so I'd do what I need to do and then call them the day after install was complete to pick up. This way I was assured nothing was going to go wrong with the installation itself.

Personally, I've never practiced it nor had a reason to.
