yeah they're called the BT7P1. 7.1" subwoofer with a built in tweeter. I think the tweeter can be disconnected. :-)
It can be, but is soldered normally, so I'd ask Bill to send you one w/o them fixed/soldered on if that's your goal. I'm sure they have or can get a set like that to send you. Nothing but awesome folks at BT.
I just tested my BT7P1's and WOW. mine measured free air Fs at 64 Hz. The $500 Pioneers (msrp - didn't pay that) I have as a baseline (love their hit) measured at 73 Hz!! 6.75 vs 7.1 ... but damn! Love the BT's!
Now i just need to test my brother's MM651's to see how they measure up!
Does anyone know if they make a 6.5" subwoofer? If so I may run a set of them in my lowers to go with my 7.1's in my fairing I think that would be a great combo?
Your thinking would be wrong.....They make 'em,..........but there's a lot more science to running a sub woofer, than just bolting them in. If you want bass, 6X9's are where it's at.
If you want that low 'hum' that the street cars are bumping to, you better get a pro to put a 10-12 inch sub in a properly tuned tour pack.
I've seen/heard the smaller, ( 6.5 & 6X9 ) subs in bikes. They don't hold a candle to the Pioneers, ...........at least the ones I've heard.
