Regardless.. porting a shitty speaker that requires less than .60 cu ft of total air-space to make it perform at it's optimal level (what a joke) into an almost 4 cu ft box (tourpak) is the most asinine thing I've ever heard of. Just goes to show how much influence idiot HD engineers have over such a high-end and respected company as H/K. I know damn well H/K engineers didn't come up with that sales ploy!
i've not found it to help at all regardless of speaker. Matter of fact I've had to block it off when installing aftermarket speakers to get them to tame down. The best thing for rear pods and lower fairing pods is take a thin layer of polyfil and line the inside of the pod before you put the speaker in. Thin as in a single layer
