Tried a search and found nothing but was wondering if anyone had experience with these speakers in the batwing fairing?
They are mobile, but reason I am looking at them is they are 7". Just wondering if I could get them to fit?
Just trying to figure out what I am going to be doing this winter...
The should probably fit, but I don't know where you would get an adaptor ring for them. The Biketronics 7.1" and J&M 7.25" speakers come with their own proprietary adaptor rings. The only commercially available adaptor rings are for 6.5" speakers.
Just make an adapter out of mdf board. There was a guy who was able to get 6x8's to fit in the fairing so I'm thinking 7's should be no problem provided the depth isn't to deep.
bayboy75 has the right mindset however i would NOT use MDF anywhere on my bike. These things are in humidity and rain all the time and we all know what MDF does.
I do believe Bill @ BT will sell you just the 7.1" adapter rings if you call and ask him.
Thanks, I was unaware BT had a 7" speaker, for the price I may just go with them.
I sent them an email asking about what will fit in factory lower speaker pods.
6.5" titan II is all youre going to get in there. I just went through this and tried my damndest short of fiberglassing my own speaker pods no way you'll get the 7.1" in there.
I think BT is still selling the 7.1" BT7P1 for the same price as the 6.5" @ $249

then I may go with bt 7 in fairing and then some 6.5" in lowers and rear pods. the 7" with rear pods are a little pricey when I don't "need" the pods. but then again when do needs matter...

The 6.5" BT speakers will not fit in the factory pods.

right.. sorry sometimes I just assume everyone knows what I'm talking about.
you'll need some sort of slim line speaker to put in the rear stock pods. not much depth in there.
6.5" is what you'll get in the lower fairing pods and the titan IIs will fit there but not the rear pods. You'll have to go with something along the depth and diameter of the Polk MM or DB 6.75" or the Infinity series seems to fit as well.
I'm sorry too - I was thinking of non-BT 6.5s for the other spots - I didn't communicate very well.
I am actually looking at some kicker 6.5 speakers the CS line. Mounting depth of 2" with zero protrusion on the tweeter. Spec wise they appear to fit. We shall see.
Thanks for all the help. I'm sure I will be back as I progress!
