Default BT2180 tiny speaker wire

Just installed my BT2180 with BT7.1 speaker... sure is louder than necessary and I am happy. However, the speaker wires are definitely tiny weeny bitty, with 180rms-360peak watts/channel this amp is capable of, I am wondering if I should upgrade the wire? I have few feet of competition grade speaker wire laying around, should I do the effort or it is going to be a wasted effort??

The smaller guage wire is the only thing that concerns me about the Biketronics amps. Watching the install videos, I am puzzled how the amp can produce so much power and sound so good with so thin of wire provided.

So what is the conclusion, should I upgrade the wire or leave it as it is?? I cut short the thin power and ground wire and soldered both to 8 AWG competition quality wire. I haven't change the speaker wire and wondering if I need to?

Good question. Bill seems to know what he's doing. Maybe call him up and see what he says?

I asked him about this yesterday when ordering my second set of 7.1s. My concern was having all the speaker wires the same length for equal resistance, especially since they are so small. He claims the quality of wire they use has been thoroughly tested and he believes it is all that is necessary and that with lengths under five feet or so there is no need to use anything different or to make the wires equal length.

Make sense, I might just test it out by cranking the volume without the fairing cover and measure any temperature rise from the speaker wire...If it doesn't get hot then I guess it is good enough....
