I bought this used from a friend, I installed it today and wired it all up, what I think is correct, but its not working properly. It turns on but it emits a crazy a$$ noise. Can someone who knows what the problem/fix is share it with me and whom ever else needs the info? I have a 2001 Fat Bot FLSTF.

The Splice: Its Orange/White spliced to Orange/White from wire bundle
This is the kit recommended in instructions. Dont know if it is truly needed
you should have a ground, main battery wire and a remote turn on which would obviously be the orange/white wire.
I think where you tapped in for orange/white is not correct. easy way to test is simply hook the orange/white to the battery temporarily to power the unit for testing. If it still does it, you've got a bad unit.
