Default Polyfill how think?

Installed my mm651s and got my sound stream in the mail today.... Woohoo!!! Anyway, I got poly fill but it is thin. About the thickness of a peace of cardboard. I used it about five layers thick? Maybe a 1/2 inch thick I'm guessing? How thick should it be for best results? I think I read a inch thick somewhere? When I say 1/2 inch that is uncompressed.

3 layers of the thin stuff 15x15" square. Wrap around speaker and tuck into adapter ring

Not sure what you mean by tuck into adapter ring?

Separate question, what do you think of using either foam (e.g. XTC) or plastic baffle kits found on ebay/amazon vs. the wrapped poly-fill?

I only use baffles, regardless of material type, to isolate speakers from each other when mounted in the same enclosure. Polyfil is your best bet for sound reproduction.

i used polyfill from an old pillow and stuffed it around the speakers, made a pretty good sound improvement.

Just did this bike over the weekend. Pioneer TSd6902R facing inward in the bags and Biketronics/HAT 6x9s in the lids.

Kicks azz but you can see what I was talking about with isolating the speakers. If I didn't do this, the air movement within the bag would kill all resemblance of bass from either speaker.
