Default Better Splash Cover

Hi guys & gals!
I have a JVC KD-AVX77 with Biketronics splash cover.... It kinda work...kinda...
Because my head unit fascia seems to be slightly thicker and wider than normal and BT splash cover have a really thick and deep surround the dang thing cannot fit all the way in properly and fell off so many times while I am listening to my tunes on rain, I am lucky my head unit is still working with that much water poured to it, but I don't wanna keep on pushing my luck....what is my alternative? V-twin audio splash cover seems to be a lot thinner and compact with flat surround sealed with rubber, it is not cheap at all at almost $90 so I cannot afford to do trial and error here... Does anyone have an opinion?

Thanks in advance

The section of the cover that has the seal on it is almost 1/2" thick. I've never held the Biketronics cover, but the V-Twin cover feels thick and substantial.

Still have my stock radio installed, but I am very happy with my choice of cover and install kit. The gloss black is going to look great against my painted fairing. Can't wait to start my install.

I didn't realize you were still using the stock HU. Did you have IC take the output from the pre-amps? If so, did it make a difference in sound quality and are the speaker outputs still active?

I won't have it very much longer. I only placed the cover over the factory radio to let the OP see how it looked installed. I never use the CB and want something that sounds better. I looked into getting IC to do the pre-amp outs and the color mod for the front panel to match the white lights of my LED gauge lights, but thought I would just do an aftermarket head unit to get everything I want. I want Bluetooth and USB too.

Ok thanks. I'm still stuck on stock HU. Hope I notice an improvement in distortion getting pre-amp outs. Otherwise the fairings coming off again........ Mine is loud enough to hurt actually but right before it gets too loud I start to notice the bass isn't quite right which bleeds over into everything so I just need a small improvement. I don't want to have to adjust bass and treble along with volume.

Why don't you get a piece of thin plexiglass custom cut it and use some gasket material to line inside for custom fit?

A few people had done it before, to me it looks very 'not' stock. I like something that looks like it's factory made. I even hesitated to take off my HK head unit solely due to 'stock' look, then I found out about this JVC KD AVX77 which IMO looks totally stock...

Thanks for all the advices guys, much appreciated... Those who is still on the fence in jumping to aftermarket HU, my take is DO IT ASAP!! my distortion is totally gone and the sound quality is NIGHT AND DAY....

I am not sure what you mean by stock as I've never seen stock Harley radio cover . I like to fabricate things and think I could make something nice less $10 materials.
