Your head unit is a personal choice. I don't care for either because they both have only 2 amp preouts and no bluetooth, but if I had to pick between the two, it would be the first one.
any aftermarket radio is going to require the use of a control module for handlebar controls. Biketronics and HawgWired are plug and play. PAC steering wheel controller requires some wiring but does the same thing.
