I know its all over the forum but which model again Pioneer 6x9 for the lids is the one everyone raves about the one with the good bass and a great price?
Also what are the differences of that model Pioneer 6x9 and the BT 6x9's? Reason I ask is I may run either or in my crew cab truck.
Run the Pioneer. The benefit of the BT's are the detached tweeter bridge for the Hogtunes and stock saddlebag lids, thus preventing water from getting in the bags.
Thanks Pioneer74 well apparently I cannot run ANY 6x9 speaker in my stock speaker openings on my truck unless I want to modify the openings which Im not going to do. So back to the drawing board my stock opening is for a 5x7/6x8 speaker so Im wondering if pioneer makes an equivalent 5x7/6x8 to the TS-D6902R's? or if Im better off running all 6.5's instead? But I like the price of the TS-D6902R's and the Wow factor. Any suggestions would be great? Also I know its a motorcycle forum and Im asking about my truck but you guys are hands down the the audio gurus............
Thanks again I wonder how the bass response is on those compared to the 6x9's? Also on both these model pioneers are the harley guys mainly using them just for the bass? or do they have a good midrange and tweeter sound as well or should I look into another speaker all together? because I do want to try and acheive an all around good sound in the truck with bass/mids/highs...........

According to Pioneer, they have less bass response, and slightly lowly sensitivity.....

The Pioneers are insane . . . Get em! Another option that very few talk about on here is the Kicker KS693 100 RMS 300 peak or the brand new version of these speakers KSC693 150 RMS 300 peak. I'm running these with the Soundstream 520.D and the only 6 X 9's that even come close to these are the Pioneers. . . No matter what sound system I run into during the course of the summer ( and I'm talking guys with $4,000 systems) Ask me what 6 x 9's I'm running and when I tell em Kickers they are speechless.
Scott, for your truck, get you a set of Scosche 5x7 to 6x9 adapter rings and they'll go right in
Hey Todd, So your saying I could still run the pioneer TS-D6902R's with this adapter ring in my truck doors 2003 Ford F350 Superduty Crew Cab? I spoke to crutchfield just for reference and I asked them if I could use some sort of an adapter ring for them to work and they said no and that I would have to modify the speaker openings on the door itself and I may run into a mounting depth issue. If I can use these adapter rings where might be the best place to buy them at?
