Does anyone know if the tweeters on the Hogtunes tweeter pod can be replaced? Im looking at doing a new stereo and I have a nice component set in the garage that I bought a for a build several years ago that im thinking about using.
If anyone knows or has a better option please let me know. Also during the summers here we almost always get a decent storm between 1-4 in the afternoon only last an hour or so but its not uncommon for me to end up riding in it. Should I really be concerned about running marine grade equipment?
Yes. You can replace em. I installed the tweeters from a set of Rockford Fosgate T-1652s components in mine. In my experience "marine grade" is not needed. I have never run marine grade anything and have been WETTT.
The cheap tweeters, are just that, CHEAP........You could get a mid-range cost, set of tweeters, in the $70 range, that are night and day better than the Hogtunes......All of the big brand vendors have good tweeters available ...
I replaced the Hogtunes tweeters with Polk silk domes, it was a real PITA. The Hogpod can't simply be drilled out, you need to find a replacement tweeter that will fit into the recess. The Polks needed to be removed from their plastic shell, which wasn't easy as they were hot glued in there!
