It's now wired up properly, taped loomed and tie-wrapped.
A little view of the amp on top of radio and under splash shield. The amp has 4 feet on it which raises up about 1/16"-1/8" plus I put some velcro pads between amp and radio.
And of course the rain shield glued in place drying.
Would like to put the poly-fyl in around the speakers which are marine grade but am afraid it will soak up water and just be like a large sponge holding water as water does get in from the top corners where the windshield slides down into the fairing. You can see the water marks above and between the speakers, probably not alot of water but still a concern.
Said the heck with the Polks, as another speaker had noise issues. Probably didn't help running near max volume on the HU for the past 2-1/2 years and not having enough power to run them properly. So picked up some Alpine SPS-510 speakers instead(55W RMS, 170W peak). Have them hooked up and testing now, much better sound quality. Had to cannibalize the mounting rings and grills from the polks to mount them into the fairing. Will be ordering the right grills once I'm done testing and satisfied with them and get everything sealed back up. Of course one would not know the difference looking at them from the front, hehe
After putting on the old grills I think I'm going to save the $40 bucks for the Alpine grills and keep what I have. So after testing for 2 hours at 3/4 volume running a variety of music artists with the usb stick I think it's time to seal it up. Everything ran great and sounded awesome. Amp was noticeably warm but not hot, and having the poly-fyl in behind the speakers made a difference too, didn't have that in there before. Another useful tip I picked up the forum. Definitely $300 well spent upgrading amp and speakers for a sweet sounding system as limited as I am with this fairing. If it hadn't been for all the other threads I might not have what I have now, thanks.
Hopefully this will help others with the same fairing.

Old thread, I know. But still relevant. I'm considering a Woody's fairing for my RK. And I'm thinking about speakers. What the heck is poly-fyi and what do you mean that you've put it behind the speakers? Do you have pics?
Also, when you wrapped your wires... was that just electrical tape wrapping or did you get a special wire wrap to use?

Awesome thread. Thanks for pointing me to it. The one question that they didn't answer (I can probably find it in some other thread, but thought I'd ask): What is the function of the poly-fil? Does it create a makeshift "enclosure" for the speaker so they sound fuller? Do the speakers echo or have a hollow sound without it?

Basically yes it makes a makeshift enclosure to make the bass sound more full and reduce the hollow sound you get from smaller speakers in big enclosures. It just sounds better when they're wrapped with the poly! Just don't be like me and completely forget to wrap your speakers after you've already got the sheets cut and ready to put on then you just slap your fairing back together because you can't wait to ride.... bleh I'll fix it this weekend! Or maybe tonight... Hmmmm
