Default ipod interface

I was looking at iron cross for the ipod interface, looks good. I was wondering if anyone prefers this over harley's boom interface. Cons or dislikes on either one.Harley boom is more expensive vrs. iron crosses.

Default Iron Cross Vs HD - Just my own experience

Installed in summer got a couple of thousand miles before gremlins started kicking in. Odd display, unsupported acessory etc... all the same problems Ive now found others complaining about. I called IC they sent a new cord, things started to work fine again. Now different issues, no charging of Ipod, slight feedback etc... 3 times Ive had to dismantle bike (i run cord under tank) so while I love working on the bike, its to install new stuff not replace defective cords from a product I paid $350 for. If I spent a little more on an HD unit and had them install I could actually avoid taking my own bike apart several times. IC support has been fine on phone but fact is Ive had to take fairing apart several times replace cable then month later issues again. I just called them today will need to check 12V but after I find the time to once again dismantle my fairing. Personally, go with the dealer installed HD unit so i you have issues they will take care of. not worth the time and aggravation. For example I see plenty of posts where IC has known cord issues, yes I got one of those. Sure they replaced cord no charge but still sent me a unit they should have known had a bad cord. Ive already spent the $350+ so I will see this through but right now AVOID IC AND GO TO THE DEALER. You have been warned

Happy with mine so far. Hopefully wont have problems like NIllinoisharley has. I've had mine for about 4 months and 1200 miles problem free.

And you probably wont have an issue.
We've sold close to two thousand units over the last 3 years...just over half of those to Harley Dealers.
The unit failure rate is less than 3% for those 3 years.

There was a bad run of cables, but that situation was over a year ago and all customers received new cables

I've had my IC since 2011, 25k miles. Only issue is with plug into iPod and they offered to replace it I just haven't done it yet. The issue is just that it sometimes shakes loose. I put a rubber band around it and all is well.
