I'm using the high level inputs on my Kenwood, and it has 4 volt outputs. It's nothing to do with the radio. The amp just responds better to the high level inputs.

Sounds good! Then thats what Ill do. Just so im clear..I cut the RCA plug off the amp pigtail and then use the front speaker output wires from the HU and hook up to this correct?

Front or rear. Whichever you want them hooked up to for fading purposes.

I've done some research and decided to go with Sony MEX-GS600BT. That is until I just came across the Sony MEX-M70BT. It's new for 2014 and it's marine grade. I do think that marine stuff is propaganda but whatever.

But it does have a front & rear USB. The rear USB is on a cord. I plan on running the rear up the front fairing and into the windshield pouches (thanks baggervance). Also has blue tooth and 5v pre amp.

Marine isn't going to do a darn thing but I do like both front and rear USB and that it has a 10 band EQ vs the 7 band on my GS600BT. You can easily hit the face plate release button on these Sonys by accident so make sure you put the security screw in the HU before you install. I installed my HU and forgot the screw so I had to pull it back out. It was only a 15 minute mistake but a mistake I could have avoided.

the main thing marine gives you as far as the Sony lineup is concerned is a better viewable display in direct sunlight.
