Finally finished (well finished for now) my audio install on my 09 King. I mounted MM691's in the bags, MM651's in a set of lowers and a SS4.520 powered by my Iphone. Took it out for a 10mile (20F out) ride and am very pleased with it so far.
The speaker lids are stock lids with 1/4 holes drilled in a 1/2" offset pattern. I glued Frogzskin to the inside of the bag to keep as much rain/debris out as possible. I used a tilted spacer 1 1/4 inch on one side and 3/4 inch on the other to tilt the speakers toward the rider. I also put a piece of Frogzskin between the front speakers and speaker grills. I used Duetsch connectors for my audio connections and power wire for the amp so the bags can come off pretty quickly. I used a trolling motor quick disconnect for the power and ground for the AMP connector. I have it all ran off a audio to rca splitter for now. I mounted the AMP in the back of the LH bag with heavy duty velcro.
I have the exact same setup on my King. Last thing I need to do is the amp power quick disconnects. Do you have part numbers for those trolling motor disconnects you are using?
Nice! I am doing something similar, but two 6x9's in each lid. How do you feel about the amount and size of the sound holes? Does it sound muffled at all? Do you think bigger and/or more holes would benefit? Thanks
I love the looks of the lower fairings. I really want to put them on my RK. My only concern is that my bike is lowered and I don't know if will have the proper clearance. Any experiences/issues with this situation?
Not muffled at all, I am extremely happy with the sound quality. I will try and get a youtube video uploaded tomorrow with some sound.

I don't see there being any issues with clearence, I plan on lowering my front this summer. How much are you going to lower?

It's lowered by 1.5 inches. I was looking at a bike in a parking lot yesterday, it seems that the fairings sit pretty flush with the engine guard. If that's the case, I should have room for them! Great looking ride!!!
