No Sir! I left the grills just like they came from Hog Tunes and painted the outer edge gloss black. . Came out real nice!

Thanks again for everyone's input and posting the pictures.

What did everyone do with their stock lids? I'd like to sell them to offset some of the cost.

You can sell them to get some cash back, but I wouldn't expect to get very much. If you never plan to use them again, I can see the plus.

Personally, I bought extra hardware and kept my stock bags intact. I've sold everything else on the bike I've replaced except the stock headpipe with he catalytic converter, but I don't see getting anywhere what I think the bags are worth.

And here are my lids (best pics I have):

I stored my stock lids away to put back on if/when I sell the bike.

how much did you end up paying for the paint job? I got mine (all vivid black) sitting at painter including KW 21 inch Slicer and mid frame air deflectors for 600 total.
hope to get them back by end of the week so I can complete the install incl. 21 inch front wheel...

I had mine painted. Someone asked, I paid $200 to have them painted. I kept the stock lids, just in case. I keep all of the stock part.

+1... That way when I trade in or sell the bike, I can put the originals back on.
