My stock lids went into the HogTunes packaging (perfectly holds the lids!), and the lower bags went into the box for the V-Twin CVO style bags. Now to begin tripping over these two rather large boxes for the next decade!
Lids came out great...can't wait to do the install.
The painter stated the quality of the lids was pretty good on the tops. He said the sides were a little wavy and required some block sanding and priming.

+1...
painter told me 2 weeks ago - they look nice. they put all the layers on it (vivid black) and then clear coat throws them off... outside sides really wavey... I saw them with my own eyes and could not believe my eyes. so he fixed it (and then burned thru clear coat at final buffing to get rdi of some little lines :-( so I had to wait another 2-3 business days ).
Just picked them up - looking great! - and he told me there should be more than enough clear coat layers on them :-)
so - in short, they are NOT paint ready as they are advertizing...
BTW - I paid 600 all in for the paint job:
- 1 Klockwerks 21 inch slicer fender - painter and owner of the shop both REALLY liked the quality of the fender and are now in the process to become a dealer. They bought one and painted it for a bike that is going to Laughlin River Run.
- 2 midframe air deflectors (orig HD)
- 2 hogtunes lids (all painted vividblack)
