Default It's a nice AMP but....

You can look high and low on these forums and I don't think you'd fine one single complaint about the RF PBR300x2. For the cost and what it does it's a winner. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

But....

It can't compare to the BT4180 I just installed. Not only does the BT4180 crank it's crystal clear at high volume. I know it's a big nut to spend but as I've read. One and done, cry once...etc.

Cant really compare the 2 amps, they are completely different.

I have the 7.1 In the fairing and I'm installing the bt 6x9 right now, they sound awsome. I have to admit I've been alittle jealous the last few days of your new amp purchase. I spent some time on the phone with bill yesterday talking to him about the 4180. Bill has told me that the sound quality of the ss4.520 that I'm currently running has very poor sound quality, he wasn't being a salesman or anything he was simply answering question that I was asking him and giving me an honest opinion. Bill actually claims to be a fan of soundstream but says the nano series just isn't up to par. He gave me technical reasons as to why but I don't fully understand it completely so I will just stop there. I was examining to him that I love the 7.1 that I currently have but I could tell that at high high volume levels I could tell the signal they are getting could be better. He claims my next move should be to replace the stock head unit and then move to a nicer amp if I'm still looking for more.

Maybe so but you sure can compare the end result!

The Biketronics crew was skeptical of me running the Pioneer TSD6902R's because they're only rated at 80RMS. They recommended their 6x9's because they're 100RMS. We'll see if they survive the pounding.

I offset the cost of the BT4180 by selling both 300x2's I was running.

Jealous of all you guys with the 4180 and the 7.1's.. Looking at BT website I may be able to join y'all in early June.. Decided awhile back to wait and do it right the first time! Can't wait!

I was looking at the BT2180 but even at cost + 10%, it's 2 bills more than the PBR300x2 I just picked up. My PBR birth sheet shows a pretty healthy 119w/2@4ohms. That should drive my Focal components well enough. If I was looking at a 4ch amp, the BT4180 would be at the top...

The BT amps are no doubt top quality, but the price tag is just too much for a motorcycle application. I'm running the PPI version of the Soundstream 520 amp, no way I could ever need more volume and clarity. I didn't lose any of my FM stations, and the best part was the price, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...er-i520.4.html

I paid $600. I sold both my PBR's for $100 a piece. I know there was an initial investment on those PBR's but that's water under the bridge.

I'm not familiar with the PPI but this 4180 cranks and it's crystal clear. The BT7.1's in my fairing sound even better than they did before with the PBR300x2.

Also with Biketronics it's a lifetime warranty.

How many watts per channel does that PPI push?
