Default Speaker upgrade

I already got rid of my stock speakers last year March and went with a set of HogTunes 902.2/REV speakers and NCA-70.2 REV Series Amp. It was definitely an improvement. I'm now replacing my HK head unit with a Sony DSX-S310BTX and am now rethinking the Hogtunes.

If I dug deeper into my wallet, what would be the best upgrades from the HogTunes speakers? I think they are still 5 1/2".

Are the foam inserts or baffles mandatory to getting great sound from your fairing speakers?

Don't know how deep you want to go in your pockets but that Hog tunes amp and the 5.25 speakers have to go if you are looking for great sound on a street glide.

Get these: http://www.biketronics.com/bt7p1-speaker-upgrade/

or these: http://www.rakuten.com/prod/infinity...FcdFMgodQj8A1g

And this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...FXQiMgodLD8AQA

You will also need these: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...R_p/654458.htm

Best inexpensive system out there for a Street Glide!!

I had the same Hogtunes set up on my FLHTC and was pleased with it in comparison to the stock set up.
Used that set up for about a year, then decided I needed a little more. I pulled the Hogtunes amp and speakers and bought this:

Rockford Fosgate pbr 300 x 2 amp = Ebay for about $140 shipped
Biketronics Titan II 7.1 fairing speakers = about $250 shipped (lifetime warranty)
The 7.1's come with adapter rings and fit perfectly.

I still have the stock HK head unit. I'm a newbie, but still only took about 2-3 hrs installation time.

I am extremely happy with this set up for less than $400, probably close to what I paid for the Hogtunes.

AM-FM are crystal clear and I'm amazed at how this system rocks!
