Thinking about a almost complete redo...
1. Kappa 62.11i up front
2. Two each TS-D6902R in the bags
3. XD400/4 amp.
Before I went to the XD400/4 amp, I had a PBR300x2 pushing the front speakers and an Arc 125.4 pushing the rears. The rears would beat HARD in the bags with that amp (in parallel) and the infinity seemed louder as well. The problem was that the PBR300x2 would clip at certain sound levels, regardless of the gain setting and the Arc lost the front two channels (this was the reason I installed the PBR for the kappas). Seems to me that those Kappas require a lot from an amp and so far so good with the XD400, except for the output. Its measly at best, but the amp is super efficient.
I now want my beating bags back and am looking at adding another pair of 62.11 in fairing lowers. Here's what I am planning....
1. Two BT4180 amps, one for the front and one for the rears
2. Adding an additional pair of kappas to the fairing lowers.
My question is this...is the BT4180 that much better than other amps? The reason I ask is because I think the $600 selling price is extremely high. I would do two of the Arc 125.4 but I already burned up one with the Kappas. I want to do this one more time and want to get it perfect this time. Is there another amp that is comparable to the BT4180 at a lesser cost? Saddlebag installation of the amp is not an option. I dont have a tour pak and dont plan on buying one. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

Good luck in your quest !
IMO, without mounting anything in the bags, the best you can do is run 4 ohm speakers in parallel if you plan to add lowers. Then you could do a 4180 on the top of your radio for the four bag speakers and maybe a Sounstream 2.350 on a Hogtunes 2nd amp bracket. Or use those amps just with the Kappas in the fairing.
