I'll be honest man.. that HD antenna has never worked properly for me in any install regardless of amp.
The J&M antenna seems to be the best one out there as far as I'm concerned. Haven't had one fail me yet on an install that didn't have a Class D amp installed. A lot of the Class D amps cause interference and it becomes more pronounced with in fairing antennas.

10-4 thanks for the input! I'll check out the J&M antenna

The new unpowered one or the older powered antenna from JM? (Assuming they had a powered version like boom since website comments on new passive version)

the older model that was +12v powered was phenomenal so not sure why J&M stopped carrying it. The newer model is a lot better than the HD in-fairing antenna is.
+1 on the HD Boom antenna not being worth it. I installed one and it was terrible! I am going to order the J&M antenna. Seems like they should not have stopped making the powered one though??
