Adding Another Amp?
I have a few questions about adding another amp to my current setup.
The current setup on my 12' street glide is:
Sony DSXS310BTX Head Unit
(2) Biketronics 7.1" speakers in the fairing
(2) Biketronics (HAT) 6x9's in the saddlebag lids
(2) Pioneer TS-D6902R 6x9's in saddlebags facing the rear wheel
All speakers are run through a Soundstream PN4.520 amp
I am thinking about running another amp mounted in the saddlebag to power all (4) 6x9's in the saddlebags and leaving the existing PN4.520 to power just the 7.1's in the fairing.
1) Should I run another PN4.520 or the PN4.900 to power the (4) 6x9's?
2) What exactly should I expect from this modification? Louder volume? More clarity at higher volumes? Significant bass response?
I am wondering if adding another amp will make enough difference to sacrifice giving up the space in one of my saddlebags?

TN4.900D, TN4.900D, TN4.900D, TN4.900D, TN4.900D, TN4.900D, TN4.900D....you get the point yet? Those 150 watts per channel will make them pioneers sound like they're trying to get out of them bags. They'll be knocking for sure. I did a hang test on mine with my 4 ts-d and holy crap! Expect more bass response, more clarity and a little more volume. But the biggest is the clarity, especially the bass clarity. And it is definitely worth the sacrifice in space.

I have to agree with Eshaw. . . I recently purchased the TN4.900 and had the amp hooked up to my fosgates but I'm the type of guy whos never satisfied with anything so I took my fosgates out and popped my pioneers back in there and I finally found the Bass GP has been talking about for years. HOLY ****!! Previously I was running the soundstream 520.D to those speakers and their was "some" bass but not shaking the ground bass.. . . lol The new amp makes all the difference in the world. I'm gonna leave them pioneers in there until somebody convinces me there's another 6 X 9 out there with more bass than the Pioneers. What guys need to know is that it takes 150 watts to make em sound off!!
guess it's gonna cost me money agsain... BTW earlier this week I saw PPI version of the TN4.900 being on sale at Soni..... for 169 and change. I think we can safely assume they are the same unit (connector sides are IDENTICAL and we know SS / PPI and PA are all owned by the same company (Ultra figured that one out like so many other things
)the only thing that sucks is the 4.900 will not fit in the fairing.... arrgghhhh

Crazy thing about the PPI clone is 145 watts RMS @ 4 ohms vs. 150 watts RMS for the TN4.900? I'm wondering why the 5 RMS difference? Same thing with the 520.D and the Razor 2000. Basically the same amp but the Razor supposely generates 225 rms vs. 130 for the 520.D. @ 2 ohms and 160 watts rms @ 4 ohms vs. 100 watts rms for the 520.D? All being made by epsilon doesn't that strike you as strange?

It does. But I would take the lowest of the 3 as a starting point and they will probably even be lower on my bench... too bad you got it hooked up already. Would love to test it the same way I did the PA razor and my SS 4.520.

I hear you brother. . . But I'd say this amp will test out with flying colors! just like MontyCop 5 was saying about the Razor it might not have tested well but he said he could HEAR the difference and that's what counts in my book!
