Default additional amp

This is my current set up

BT4180 amp
BT 7.1 fairing
BT 6.5 lower fairing
BT 5x7 saddlebag lids
BT 6x0 saddlebags facing wheel

My question is will the BT4180 running all 8 speakers in parallel off 4 channels give me all that I can get out of this setup or will a second BT4180 running the 8 speakers of individual channels make me happier with the sound. Don't get me wrong it sounds good now, but I feel as though I should be getting more out of those 8 speakers????

according to biketronic specs. the 4180 delivers 720 watts rms. thats 90 wats per speaker. im guessing your are underpowered right now

I am in the same boat as you are ty, running 8 speakers off the 4180. Adding another amp will surely help raise your system to the next level of volume and clarity! The 4180 is rated at 230 rms @ 2ohms per channel, so you are putting approximately 115 rms to each speaker! If you add a another 4180 you would then be putting approximately 180 rms (actually I think the 4180 puts out around 150+ rms per AAWAV calculations) per speaker! I know a few guy's on here did run 2 4180's with great results!! I personally am going to add an another amp but I need one with gain controls because I want to put more juice to the components I am running in my fairing! Long story short...adding another amp will bring your system to the next level with volume and clarity and even a little more bass!!

that's what I need to hear; so I guess my step is deciding whether to go with another BT4180 or a different amp....

I'm going to mount it in saddlebag; I have a chopped tour pak, plenty of storage for me...

Well shix, the sky is the limit!!!! Good news!!

Have seen some very clean installs recently where the amp is long and skinny and sits nicely on the forward slanted part of the bag.

Haze, Gann or the other experts have tried just about all of the amps going so hopefully they will chime in.

Those BT speakers actually sound much better with a Soundstream TN4.900. I know everyone wants to buy $600 amps but the TN4.900 kicks much *** with those speakers. Good clarity and clean! Or you can go the $600 route and get the Diamond, Hertz or Moto. I'd sell the BT4180 and purchase two soundstreams with those speakers. JMHO.

I couldn't agree more.
