Well I am on my last pair of bt if I blow them again . I am running. Kenwood kdc-x798 and a bt 2ch amp with hog tune tweeter pods and 7.1 pros on a 2006 street glide
I am useing a memory stick all eqs set at normal for all music
then I would try without the tweeter pod being connected. I mean anything is possible but logic, theory, and common sense tell me it's almost impossible.
Polk for years, I ran with never an issue and there are still plenty of people running them with no issues. BT speakers (HAT) are probably one of the best speakers made. There is a TON more factors involved in each and every one of these cases than is usually presented here.
Over-powering a speaker will likely never blow it. What will blow it faster than anything is distortion which usually results from lack of power (which means your volume level at the source has to be turned higher), lack of proper gain adjustment, EQ settings on a source.
Lots of folks don't even think about this but once you have your bass/treble or eq set the way you like it on the head unit and your gains set on your amp, if you pipe a Bluetooth device or a plugged in device through it like an iPhone, iPod, Android, etc. that has it's own eq settings manipulated, then all your settings go out the window.
Everything you're saying makes perfect sense. Maybe its just the concentration on failures on this forum that makes it look worse than what it is. And you never lie about the source of music causing everything to be thrown out the window. I hooked my wife's ipod up to my system and holy crap!! It sounded like I turned the gains up even higher on my amps. Now, im searching for an ipod to download all my music to and make it a permanent fixture on the bike. I swear....this sh.t never stops....but its so addicting!
I think its worse then crack . I get on the bike and I want more and more sound. It unreal after all my different set up I have to have 3500 at least in just the sound . My neighbor loves it he built his system off all my take offs for cheap. I wish it would end .

LOL . . . That's why I use the forum for my support system . . .Too far gone to talk to anybody else but audiophiles. . .On the other hand a man has to be passionate about something in his life. Some guys gamble all their money away. I spend mine on audio. At least it's something I can see.

same analogy I use on my wife when she starts b*tching about what I spend on the bike. "baby at least I'm home and not in the bars chasing T&A" that usually shuts her up.. :-)
