Default Harmon Kardon Radio

I have a 2007 streetglide and when I'm listening to a cd and try to flip the switch up to go to the next song, it switches to the weather band station, same too if I'm listening to the radio. If I push in on the switch it still operates like it should. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and what was the diagnosis? Thank you, Phil

If you're listening to the radio does it go to weatherband?
If it does, is there a CD in the drive?

So with a CD in the drive and listening to FM if you try to advance to another station by hitting the "up" switch it goes to weather-band...or does it go to CD??

If I'm listening to 100.7 fm and try advancing to 105.5 it goes to weather-band, if I keep hitting the up switch it goes to am, fm, cd. It's suppose to do when you push in, which it does. When I hit the switch down it works the way it should.

Sounds like a switch or harness issue, but we have more questions.
Give us a call when you can and we'll walk you through some things.
Would be better if you were with the bike.

Any recent/past handlebar upgrades that would've affected controls? What version of HK audio SW are you running? Did you upgrade the radio SW?

I had the same problem, you have a bare wire somewhere shorting...open your fairing and look , poke around, lift wires, I did and found one. Problem fixed.

Sorry it's taking so long to respond I've been working 12hrs.and trying to figure this out I took the outer faring off the wires look fine, the only thing that was changed were the grips. I thought maybe a wire was pinched but didn't see any. The pink/white wire is the one to flip up stations. A buddy of mine told me if there weren't any pinched wires to unplug the harness from the radio and and find that wire check ground for a short to determine if it is the radio or the switch. After tomorrow I'm off for three days so I will have time to figure this out. Is there a number I can call you when I'm ready? Thank you.

The only thing I did was change the grips, and it's the original HK that came on the bike, no upgrade.
