Default Is there really a difference

I have a Kenwood now only go's up to 35 for volume. My sony went up to 45 . Does anyone really know does it matter?

no - it's just how the manufacturer splits up the segments of volume increase.

Had a clarion that went up to 45 or 50 I believe and my kenwood goes to 35. Clarion would get loud at about 35 while the kenwood gets ear piercing at about 30. So no, there is no difference....just like what was said above.

zero to max

doesn't make any diff on how they break up the middle part - max is max, zero is zero everything else between is just levels of volume

it only makes a difference if the max of one is higher then the max of the other

i.e. if your old unit was 250W and this one is now 200W
then yes there is a difference but the number they call Max is just that a number, its just MAX

Well I tuned in my kenwood tonight and you are right no difference. That thing is so loud its crazy. I have the volume at 23 and it will blow your ears off your head. Just want to say thank you for the help.
