Now you know why you got a great deal on the lids.
I have the BT 6x9's in my Hogtunes lids. You'll love them on that 4180 if that's the way you decide to go.
Thanks I was hoping to hear some feed back on the BT 6X9's, just wish Phat Performance sold them. There prices with the additional 5% discount were the best I could find.
I have Hog Tune pods on my tour Pak. I used a dremel tool to make the hole bigger to accomadate a 6.5 speaker (from original 5.25). I originally had a set of Arc 6.5 speakers in them and then a pair of Focal 6.5 speakers in them. When I put the BT 6.5 Titans (HAT's) in the Hog Tune pods I had to use a 1 inch spacer because the HAT's are deeper than the other 2 speakers. The spacers do take up more space and seem to push the wife towards me a little bit, less space between the pods and my backrest for her legs. Just thought I would let you know. I would like to get the 7.1 pods eventually.

Mike I had read another post were you mentioned that you had modded your pods to accept a 6.5 speaker, One of the reasons I knew it could be done.
Seeing that the price difference isn't that much and my hog pods have a tear here and there in the leather wrap I think I'm just going to go with the 7.1 w/ new pods and be done with it.
Ive been thinking about the sound of my new boom saddlebag speakers and I just don't think there getting enough power right now wired in series with the front.
I'm hoping once I install the new amp that the additional power will make them sound a little better until I can replace with the BT 6X9's. And lastly I hope the rear 7.1 Bt 's will sound okay with just the J&M 250 powering them.
I'm a little confused on the Biketronics 5x9 saddlebag replacement speakers, the BT page says they are rated 125 watts RMS at 4 ohms but the install video says 100 watts? I wonder if the video is older using an older speaker and the new current 5x9s are upgraded to handle a little more?

They are 6x9's with an adaptor plate. I have 180 watts going to them from a BT4180 with no problems.
Phat can/will sell them, you just have to call and know what part number it is through BT, they will add it to the site and send you a link relatively fast.

I was planning on calling when I had the money to ask about the 6x9's and the 7.1 rear pods and speakers to see if Phat could get them at there discounted price. And if not I was going to see what the biketronics price would be with my 10% military discount.
With the two speakers, amp and additional amp bracket I just ordered it was still cheaper to order through phat with the additional 5% discount than it would have been through Biketronics with there 10% discount.
Well when the sun goes down and the temps drop a little in my garage I can get started on the install of the BT 4180 and 7.1's. Not sure If i'm going to bother tackling using the hogtunes second amp plate yet now or wait until I get the upgraded rear speakers? I have a long weekend in Maggie Valley riding this weekend so I don't want to get into anything right now and will have plenty of time when I get back to play around with any fabbing I might have to do to get the second amp to fit in the fairing.
