The install was pretty easy seeing that I already had an amp and rear speakers installed. First try was just using the BT 4180 with the front BT 7.1 and saving the rear channels for when I upgrade the rear boom for BT speakers, and using the J&M 250 for just the rear saddlebag speakers since the speakers and amp are for 2ohm. Didn't even come close to matching.

So second attempt I removed the J&M completely for now and used the rear channel of the BT to power one saddlebag and one tour pack speaker wired in series per rear channel to bring the two 2ohm speakers up to a 4 ohm load. Much better, for now.

This is how it will stay until I can order the 4 ohm BT 6x9 saddlebag speakers and rear 7.1 tour pack pods and speakers. I'm also looking at dumping the J&M for another BT 4180 and adding the lower fairing pods and speakers. I was surprised that the BT 4180 was almost smaller and lighter than both of my J&M 250 amps.

The only issue is when I start the bike I get the speaker thump that is pretty loud. Trouble shooting to try to get rid of it now. I'm thinking of trying to run a little thicker ground wire back to the battery? Right now it has the same gauge as the power wire. Either way it can't hurt anything.

Do you have an aftermarket radio? If so, use the radio remote on. If not, try using the orange wire in the headlight harness.

I used the orange wire on my Soundstream and the radio remote on my Biketronics. No noise.

Where would you mount it?

In the tour pack, as small and light as it it wouldn't take up much room. All I would need to do is run some RCA cables to the front and maybe a turn on lead.

My current head unit is a Sony MEX-M70BT, I'd have to look and see were the biketronics lead come from but I would guess from the Sony turn on lead?

Not sure if I want to keep messing with it as I leave for Maggie Valley NC tomorrow for the weekend and just finished detailing the bike. Still have to pack, maybe if I get done sooner than I imagine I'll pull the fairing off again tonight. I don't know if my OCD will let me get to sleep tonight if I don't?

If you mount it in your tour pack, you will lose all 4 channels when you remove it.
